About This Author

Dr. Lance Rodman (DBA, Indiana Wesleyan University; MBA, Louisiana State University; BSc, Crown College) has spent his entire academic and professional career seeking a compelling answer to one question: How can organizations thrive during periods of uncertainty by accelerating the adoption of new ways of working that creates and sustains value and makes a positive impact on their employees, customers, and communities?

As a differently-abled first-generation college student from a ‘flyover state,’ Lance knew that the best answers often come from unexpected people and places. So, Lance’s doctoral research focused on a little-known but impressive manufacturing firm on the outskirts of the Rust Belt. By conducting a case study on how the firm managed to make a 180-degree turnaround after years of stifled growth and a turbulent M&A, Dr. Rodman made key discoveries about how high-performing organizations create and sustain maximum value for shareholders and maximum positive impact on their most impacted stakeholders. Learning in, with, and from a critical sector has deeply shaped Dr. Rodman and informed the insights he seeks to bring to academia and industry.

Dr. Rodman is an innovative classroom and workplace educator, leader, and change-enabling partner who seeks to cultivate what he has called ‘future forward firms’ that embrace change and new ways of working to maximize positive value and impact. He takes a cross-disciplinary and scholar-practitioner approach to providing evidence-based solutions for the most pressing organizational and societal problems. In his spare time, Lance can be found enjoying the outdoors, trying out new recipes, and spending time with his loved ones and dogs.
